To ensure maximum safety and performance, Gladius is rigorously tested by dedicated heavy-weight riders up to 125 kg (276 lbs). Whether you’re cruising or carving, you can trust our boards are built to support you with confidence and reliability.
Recently acquired the Gladius and already did 400km with it. If I had a summary to do about it, here it is:
Overall very good experience and I would not change it for another one on the current market (fits my goals well in terms of dimensions, power, distance, portability, safety, and comfort).
The pros I would identify are:
- The deck and wheels absorb well the roughnesses of the road (you still feel them a bit but way less that with a stiff deck)
- The braking is amazing (I'm way safer riding the 11kg Gladius than my previous 7kg skate with less brakes)
- The acceleration is VERY strong at 80% (I usually ride at 30% acceleration through the city and it's enough)
- The lights are worth the additional cost (you are being seen from all directions, and it adds a little bit of tuning to the skate)
- Never experienced a remote disconnection once
- It climbs unexpectedly well
- The autonomy is respected in my experience. Some youtubers had around 30km with it, I had 60km but I'm in France so I'm limited to 25kph, I am 60kg, and usually kickpush a bit, mostly to start at red lights
- The handle is very handy in many situations, even if carrying it more than 10 minutes becomes tiring
- The handle serves as a kicktail too, which I use sometimes, but the skate is very heavy to move that way
Regarding some cons I have found, here are my points:
- At some specific speeds, either the wheel or the belts (didn't manage to identify) produce a whistle (which you end up accomodating with)
- The battery level is not greatly evaluated. When the battery goes low, it falls REALLY quick (when it tells there are only 20% remaining, you have maximum 5 minutes before it says there are 10%)
- When lifting the skate on its nose, it quickly damages the paint
- The skate is heavy (11kg) so it is very good to ride in the city and you can even take it with you in most shops, but it is sometimes cumbersome due to its weight, dimensions, and lack of side handle. You will see yourself refused to bring it inside of performance halls or cinemas.
Another notable point is that, as I'm in France, some European laws apply and we are limited here at 25kph. This can be either of a hardware limitation or a software limitation. OMW did not have this firmware but they produced one for me so that I can legally use the Gladius on open roads.

A good in-between option for shortboards and longboards. The kicktail pull handle is unique, but also functional in both pulling and popping the front. A little more difficult to pop up though due to its length. If you are a night rider, I would recommend getting both the optional front headlights and RGBs. The flex works out too which makes it a comfy ride for its size.
Gladius hits the sweet spot for mini boards with a first of its kind board that’s stable and flexible. This is my new commuter board that knows how to overcome the mean streets of NYC.
OMW offers a unique feature where they etch your personalized signature on the handle. From ground level my Ember model looks like a dragster with the handle resembling a spoiler and the fat madesk8 105s as racing slicks.
The optional front lights put out 1800 lumens for a safe ride letting you see any obstacles in the dark and the side RGB lights make visibility appealing. The standard rear brake light is a needed feature.
The carbon fiber deck with a lifetime warranty has a flex you don’t find in other short or mini boards. This breakthrough is probably why the company calls it a portable board because they’ve created a new category.
I think this new board from OMW is the leader that others will try to imitate. It will be hard to imitate especially at the introductory price.

The review videos you're referring to were published when the Gladius had just launched and was still in its pre-sale phase. During that period, the board was offered at a special introductory pre-sale price of $699. In fact, even after the official pre-sale period ended, we continued offering the promotional pricing for an extended time as part of our Anniversary Sale.
The price adjustment only took place after the promotion concluded and inventory became available in our overseas warehouses. This was not a retroactive price increase, but rather a transition from the launch promotion to the regular retail price.
We also want to note that we've continued to provide significant discounts on Gladius accessories, including a long-standing 50% discount on both the front lights and RGB light kits, to help deliver better overall value for our customers.
