Performance Tested: A Street Cruiser’s Dream
Handling & Ride Quality:
First impression of the Lancer was the elegant movement and good ride quality felt from the relatively long wheelbase for a street board. And OMW's TKP trucks had very agile rebound response and good elasticity. As a result, the slow handling that can be a weakness of a long wheelbase was hardly felt. The trucks' responsiveness was really great. And the long wheelbase structure drew a slightly larger radius on a tight turn, but provided incredible straight-line stability at high speeds.
Also, since all the weight of the board was located inside the wheelbase, the center of gravity felt more solid and integrated when handling the board! As a result, the Lancer had quite good maneuverability and steering, even though it was not a small size for a street board. In addition, even with a medium-flexible deck setting, Mad Wheels were installed to provide a very comfortable ride.
Power & Range:
Acceleration: Smooth torque-focused start-up (30A ESC), effortless hill climbs, and Hobbywing-tuned efficiency.
Range Test: 22.5 miles (36km) achieved under mixed terrain and aggressive riding (155lb rider); 25+ miles (40km) expected for casual cruising.
Overall, the Lancer electric skateboard felt like a hybrid board with street board characteristics and an all-terrain board structure, with a movement that was really well suited to cruising.
Verdict: Unbeatable Value?
Priced at $699 (pre-order) with Mad wheels, Samsung 50S cells, and Hobbywing electronics, the Lancer electric skateboard delivers exceptional quality for its class. Its hybrid design excels in both speed and comfort, while modular options cater to personalization.
Final Take: If you seek a versatile, budget-friendly cruiser for street and light terrain, the Lancer electric skateboard is a top contender.
